JACKSON COUNTY CENTRAL HUSKIES

Big South West Conference: 6-0

Overall: 27-3

The Huskies defeated FULDA/MCC 82-0, Springfield 81-0 and Tray-Milroy/Balaton 63-6 for the Section 8A championship. They defeated Maple River/USC 52-9, WCA 41-27 and Royalton-Upsala 45-23 for the state championship. The Huskies had fourteen section place winners, including eight state medal winners. Back will be ten section place winners, including five state medal winners. This includes ten with twenty-two plus wins. The Huskies if they stay healthy could challenge those outstanding dual meet marks from last season and for a section and possibly another state championship. Their key leaders should include: Caleb Vancura (50-6), Nolan Ambrose (52-0), Logan Butzon (46-9), Thomas Freking (45-11, Matthew Haley (40-12), Dylan Withers (35-18), Cameron Scholten (34-17), Isaac Rodrigues (29-24), Isaiah Rodriquez (26-17) and Lafond Andrews (22-18).

The Panthers won a pair of section duals; Red Rock Central 70-6 and Adrian 47-25. They were defeated by JCC 63-6. They had twelve section place winners, of which were state qualifiers and three medal winners. Back from that team is nine section place winners, three state qualifiers and one medal winner. They will in addition have twelve others back with a great deal of experience. If the Panthers stay healthy and spread out in their weights, they should challenge their dual meet marks from last season and should be in the section finals. This includes seven with twenty-three plus wins. Their key leaders should include: Nick Willhite (35-17), David Schuh (37-14), Travis Willhite (35-17), Alexandria Schuh (31-10), Ethan Martinez (35-15), Ashton Squirese (23-24) and Devi Carter (46-7).

The Dragons defeated Wabasso in their section quarter final dual 54-0, they were defeated by TMB 47-25 in the semifinals. The Dragons did earn elven section place winners and they had three state qualifiers. Back from that team are ten section place winners, including a pair of state qualifiers. They will have there others back with experience and eleven with double figure wins. Look for the Dragons to challenge those good dual meet numbers from last season and for possibly a final spot in the Section 3A dual campaign. The Dragons key leaders should include Jaren Winsselman (31-9), Cameron Wieneke (30-12) Quentin Wolf (29-12), Riley Heidebrink (24-13), Roberto Henandez (20-9), Moe Erman (19-13) and Travis Weiss (19-13).

Back from that team are five section place winners, one state qualifier and six with double figure wins and ten with experience. The Arrows should improve on their dual meet marks from last season. Their key leaders should include: Brayden Burmeister (35-8, Hudson Burnett (33-2) David Budden (32-12), Jackson Melcher (29-17) and Aiden Voss (21-22).

The Raiders defeated Pipestone in their section quarterfinal dual 45-34 and they were defeated in the semifinals by JCC 82-0. They did earn seven section place winners last season, they will have back six section place winners, including nine with double figure wins and five with a great deal of experience. Look for this crew to improve on on their dual meet marks and make a challenge for a top four spot in this dual meet campaign. Their key leaders should include Aiden Lorenzen (24-20), Carter Bendo (20-140, Denver Ash (16-26), Owen Olson (16-22) and Teague Meyer (15-18).

Look for this young team to improve, they should challenge those dual meet numbers from last season. The Tigers defeated St. James in their first section dual 39-33 and then they were defeated by JCC 81-0. They had seven section place winners, including one state qualifier. Back from that team the Tigers had six section place winners, including a state qualifier and three others with experience. They will have seven back with double figure wins, including five with 22 plus wins. Look for the Tigers improve on their dual meet numbers from last and possibly surprise a couple of their foes. The Tigers key leaders should include: Ashtin Johnson (36-9), Wyatt Schmidt (32-15), Mitchell Streich (27-16), Sam Rummel (22-15) and Damian Honeman (23-22).

The Rabbits defeated Luverne in their first section dual 51-24 and then they were defeated by Adrian 54-9. The Rabbits had six section place winners, with five of those returning and six with with double figure wins. Look for the Rabbits to make steady improvement thru out the course of the season. Their key leaders should include; Kaysen Harms (36-9), Chase Irbeck (26-15), Ashton Weidermann (19-19) and Mikale Goblirsch (18-21).

Six of their wrestlers return with double figure wins and eight others with experience. Look for the Saints to improve on those dual meet marks from last season. They key leaders should include: Kollin Anderson (32-18), Levi Miest (22-22), Derek Fast (21-16) and Talan Tande (15-10).
