CLASS A

ROYALTON-UPSALA ROYALS

The Royals had an awesome tournament performance, they earned second place in the state duals. They defeated Section 8A champion United North Central 40-16 (9-5) in the state quarterfinals. In the semifinals they defeated the Section 1A champion Dover-Eyota 34-33 (8-6). The Royals were defeated by the Section 3A champions Jackson County Central 43-23 (5-9). Alex Diederich (126), Jacob Leibold (152/160), Gabe Gorecki (170/182), Bryce Holm (220) and Jeremy Mugg (285) all went 3-0. Tucker Simmons (106), Lane Olson (113) and Will Goecki (132/138) went 2-1. The Royals compiled a very impressive dual record of 25-1 over all for the 2021-2022 season.

The Royals had a very impressive individual state tournament performance, they earned six medals, including a pair of state championships. Alex Diederich (126) earned the state championship with four big decisions over three state ranked foes. He was 45-4 overall on the season and he earned his 75th Career Win of his Career at the state tournament. Jeremy Mugg (285) earned the state championship with three decisions including overtime in the championship and one fall in the semifinals. He was 45-6 overall the for season. Jacob Leibold (152) earned second place with a fall and two huge decisions, before being defeated by the Section 1A champion in the final. Jacob overall had a very impressive 50-3 record for the season. Gabe Gorecki (170) earned second place with a pair of falls and a major decision over the section 8A champion. He was defeated in the championship by the Section 6A champion. Gabe was 41-5 for the season and he earned his 150th career win. Bryce Holm (220) earned fourth place as he went 4-2 in the individual tournament, dropping his quarterfinal match to the eventual state champion.Bryce had a very good 45-11 season record and he earned his 50th career win. Tucker Simmons (106) earned fifth place going 4-2, he lost to the eventual champion in the quarterfinals. Tucker had a very good 42-13 season record. Will Gorecki (132) was defeated in the first round by the Section 2A champion and eliminated when his guy was defeated, he had a 28-11 season record. Hunter Novitzki (182) was defeated by the eventual third place wrestler and by the section 5A champion. Hunter had a good 26-19 overall season record.

KIMBALL AREA CUBS

The Cubs earned fifth place in the state dual tournament, they were defeated in their quarterfinal dual by the No. 5A ranked West Central Area/Ashby/Brandon-Evansville the Section 6A champion 34-33 (7-7). In the consolation semifinals they defeated the Section 2A championship Maple River/United South Central 39-23 (8-6) and they defeated Section 8A championship United North Central 41-24 (9-5). Mark Schiefelbein (113), Ashton “Shuggs” Hanan (170/182), Haden Rosenow (195) and Carter Holtz (220) all went 3-0. Jack Bollman (126), Lucas Jurek (138), Gavin Winter (145), Logan Kuseke (152/160), Hank Meyer (170/182) and Ace Meyer (285) all went 2-1. The Cubs compiled a very good dual meet season record of 22-7 for the 2021-2022 season.

The Cubs earned five individual stated tournament medals, led by Carter Holtz (195) earned second place. Carter had a Tech. Fall and two decisions to gain the finals. Carter defeated the Section 3A champion in the semifinals. He was defeated by the Section 1A champion in the finals. Carter had an overall impressive season record of 47-4. Haden Rosenow (195) earned the third place medal. He had a fall in his first round, then was defeated by the Section 3A champion in the quarterfinals. He came back thru the wrestle backs with four impressive wins to earn third place. This included wins over the Section 7A and Section 8A Section champions. Haden had a very good 32-7 overall season record. Gavin Winter (145) earned the fifth place medal, he had a pair of decisions to reach the semifinals, one over the No. 3 seed and Section 7A champion. He was defeated in OT by the Section 7A champion and eventual state champion. He was defeated by the Section 5A champion 3-2 in the wrestlebacks and he defeated the Section 1A champions for fifth place with a fall. Gavin had an overall 25-4 season record, this was impressive, because he did have to sit out with injury for a couple of weeks. Lucas Jurek (138) earned sixth place with a decision over the Section 6A champion champion and he was defeated by the No. 1 seeded Section 1A champion in the quarterfinals. He defeated section 8A runner up and Section 4A runner up in the wrestler backs, and he was defeated by the Section 5A champion 1-0 and eventual third place medalist. He was defeated by the Section 1A champion 1-0 for fifth place. Lucas had an overall impressive 41-14 record for the the season. Ashton Hanan earned the sixth place medal, he was forced out of the tournament due to injury. Ashton had a fall and a major decision over the Section 1A champion to reach the semifinals. He was defeated by the eventual state champion, the section 6A champion 7-5. He was injured during that match. Shuggs had a 33-6 overall season, despite having to sit out because of injury. Mark Schiefelbein (113), he was defeated by the Section 5A champion in his first match and then eliminated. He had three impressive wins in the duals, he had an overall 36-12 season record. Logan Kuseske was defeated by the eventual state champion in his first round match and he defeated the section 5A runner up in the wrestle backs. He was defeated by the eventual third place wrestler and Section 7A champion 3-0. Logan had an overall 32-21 season record. Hank Meyer (160) was defeated by the Section 8A champion in his first match and he was eliminated. He had an overall 29-19 season record. Blake Brutger (132) was defeated in his first round dual match and had to default. He had an overall 24-1 record for the season.

WEST CENTRAL AREA/ASBHY/BRANDON-EVANSVILLE KNIGHTS

The Knights had an awesome state tournament performance to earn third place. They defeated the Kimball Area 34-33 in the quarterfinals, decided in a OT match at 285. In the Semifinals they were defeated by the eventual state champion Jackson County Central 41-27. The Knights defeated the Section 1A champions; Dover-Eyota 35-31 to earn their third place medals. Owen Gruchow (106), Anthony Sykora (170) and Colton Lindquist (220/285) all went 3-0. Hunter Gruchow (132), Solomon Wales (138) and Reubens Swanson (145/152) went 2-1.

The Knights earned two individual state tourney medals; including a State Championship by Anthony Sykora (170). In his first match he defeated the section 8A runner up by a fall. He defeated the number 4 seeded wrestler the Section 3A champion by a fall in his quarter final match. Anthony defeated the No. 1 seeded wrestler in the semifinal the Section 4A championship 7-5. In the championship he defeated the Section 7A champion 6-2 to earn his champion medal. Anthony compiled a very impressive record of 47-5 for the season. Hunter Gruchow (132) earned sixth place, he advanced on a medical forfeit the first round. Hunter was defeated in the quarterfinals by the No. 1 seeded and Section 5A champion. Hunter come back in the wrestle backs with a fall over the Section 8A runner up and he defeated the section 2A runner up in OT 3-1. Hunter was defeated by the No. 2 seeded, Section 3A champion 5-3 in the consolation semifinals. In the fifth place match Hunter was defeated by the section 5A runner up. Hunter compiled an overall good 45-14 season record. Solomon Wales (138) was defeated in his first match by the section 4A runner up and eliminated from the tournament. Solomon had 37-12 overall season record. Ruebens Swanson (145) won his first match 4-1 over the Section 3A runner up, he was defeated in the quarterfinals by the number one seeded and Section 4A champion. Ruebens won his first wrestle back match with a fall over the Section 2A runner up. He was defeated 3-0 by the no. 3 seeded and section 5A champion 3-0. Ruebens compiled an very good overall 44-9 record for the season. Ashton Danner (160) was defeated in his first match by the section 1A champion and eliminated from the tournament. Ashton complied an overall good season record of 31-12. Beau Robinson (182) was defeated by the number one seeded and section 1A champion in his first match and he lost to the section 7A champion 3-2.Beau compiled a 29-16 season record. Will Rustan (195) was defeated in his first round match 2-0 by the section 8A champion and he was eliminated from the tournament. Will did compile a good season record of 31-17. Colton Lindquist (220) won his first match 8-3 over the section 8A runner up. He was defeated by the section 5A runner up 11-5 in his quarterfinal. Colton defeated the section 3A runner up in the wrestle back. Colton was defeated 3-2 by the section 4A champion 3-2. Colton compiled a very good 41-11 season record.

BELGRADE-BROOTEN-ELROSA JAGUARS

The Jaguars were defeated by the Section 1A champions Dover-Eyota 30-26 in the quarterfinals. In the consolation semifinals they were defeated by the Section 8A champions United North Central 34-30. Brett DeRoo (113), Ryan Jensen (126), Walker Bents (132/138) and Max Hanson (170) all went 2-0. The Jaguars did compile a good overall season dual record of 19-3.

The Jaguars earned five individual state medals; including one state championship by Walker Bents (132). Walker earned his state championship with a first round fall over the section 8A runner up and a major decision over the section 6A champion 10-1. In the semifinals he defeated the section 1A champion 4-0. Walker defeated the section 3A champion 5-3. Walker compiled an outstanding record of 47-1 for the season. Ryan Jensen (126) earned his second place medal with a major decision in his first round over the section 2A runner up and he defeated the section 4A champion by a fall in the quarter finals. In the semifinals Ryan defeated the no. 2 seed and section 6A champion 5-2. He was defeated by the section 7A champion 3-2 for the championship. Ryan compiled an outstanding record of 46-4. Blaine Fischer (152) won his first round match 6-0 over the section 3A runner up and he had a 10-0 major decision over the section 8A runner up. In the semifinals he was defeated by the section 7A runner up 5-4. In the consolation semifinals Blaine was defeated by the section 7A champion 6-2. Blaine had a fall of :52 seconds in his fifth place match over the section 3A runner up. Blaine compiled a very good season record of 45-4. Maximus Hanson earned fifth place with a first round win of 2-0 over the section 2A runner up. He was defeated by the eventual state champion the section 3A champion in the quarterfinals 6-2. Maximus defeated the section 8A runner up in the consolation semifinals 9-1. He was defeated by the section 5A champion and the number two seeded wrestler 3-1. He defeated the section 4A champion 12-5 to earn his fifth place medal. He compiled a very good 40-10 over all for the season. Carson Gilbert (182) won his first round match with a fall over the Section 2A runner up. He was defeated by the section 4A champion 3-1 in the quarterfinals. He was defeated by the section 1A runner up in the wrestle backs and thus eliminated from the tournament. Gilbert was 33-14 overall for the season. Ethan Spanier (220) won his first round match with a fall of :59 over the section 3A runner up and he defeated the section 6A champion 11-5 in the quarterfinals. He was defeated by the no. 1 seeded and section 6A champion 9-2 in the semifinals. He was defeated by the section 7A champion 10-4 and in his fifth place match he had a fall of 3:51 over the section 4A champion. Ethan compiled a 35-11 overall season record.

UNITED NORTH CENTRAL WARRIORS

The Warriors had a very good state dual tournament performance; they were defeated in the quarterfinals by the Section 7A champions Royalton 49-16. In the consolations semifinals they defeated The Section 5A champions Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa 34-30 (8-6). They were defeated by the Section 4A champions Kimball Area 41-24 (5-9). Ethan Hendrickson (152) went 3-0 and going 2-1 were Conrad Kroll (106), Zach Hendrickson (120), Hank Tellers (145), and Torrey Carson (195/220). The Warriors compiled a good 19-7 dual meet record for the 2021-2022 season.

The Warriors got four individual state medals including a state championship by Ethan Hendrickson (145). Ethan won his first round match with a 12-4 major decision over the section 2A runner up and in the quarterfinals he defeated the section 5A runner up 7-1. Ethan defeated the section 4A runner up 5-3 in the semifinals. In the championship he defeated the defending state champion and the section 4A champion 5-3. Ethan compiled an outstanding 52-2 season record. Eion Ness (160) won his first round match 8-0 over the section 4A runner up. He was defeated 5-1 by the number 3A seed section 2A champion 3-1 in the quarterfinals. He won 7-0 over the section 1A runner and he defeated the section 1A champion 3-1. In the consolation semifinals he defeated the section 4A champion 5-1. Eion Ness was defeated by the number two seeded and section 5A champion 7-1 in the third place match. Eion compiled a 46-9 season record. Torrey Carlson (195) earned fourth place with a win in his first round 2-0 over the section 6A runner up. He was defeated by the section 2A champion 3-1 OT in the quarterfinals. Torrey defeated the Section 2 runner up 5-1 and he defeated the section the section 7A champion 3-2 in the consolation semifinals and he got a medical default over the Section 3A champion. He was defeated by section 4A champion 11-6. Torrey compiled a 40-14 overall season record. Marcus Peterson (285) was defeated in his first round match 4-1 by the section 7A champion and the eventual state champion. He defeated the section 1A champion by a 4:58 fall in his first wrestle back and he defeated the the section 2A champion 4-1 in his second round wrestle back. Marcus was defeated by the Section 4A champion in the consolation semifinals 2-0. Marcus was defeated in his fifth place match by the section 4A runner. Marcus thus earned the sixth place medal and he compiled a overall 29-17 season record. Conrad Koll (106) was defeated in his first round match by the section 7A runner up. He was eliminated from the tournament, Conrad compiled a 22-10 season record. Zach Hendrickson (120) was defeated by the section 3A runner up in his first round match. Zach was defeated in his first wrestle back match by the section 1A champion. Zach compiled a 19-17 season record. Aaron Lake (126) lost his first round match and was eliminated from the tournament. Aaron compiled a 27-13 overall season record.

ATWATER-COSMOS-GROVE CITY FALCONS

The Falcons had six individual state qualifiers, they earned three state individual medals. Jaxon Behm (220) earned third place; in his first round match he defeated the section 1A runner up 4-2 and in the quarterfinals he defeated the section 3A runner up with a 1:54 fall. In the the semifinals he was defeated by the section 8A champion and the eventual state champion. In the consolation semifinals he defeated the section 4A champion with a 2:08 fall. Jaxon defeated the section 7A champion 3-0 to earn his fifth place medal. Jaxon compiled an impressive season record of 41-5. Cole Holien (132) won his first match with a major decision 8-0 and he was defeated by the section 3A champion 1-0 in the quarterfinals. Cole lost his consolation semifinal match to the section 1A champion 5-1. In Cole’s fifth place match he defeated the Section 6A champion 11-3. Cole compiled a very good season record of 42-11. Isaiah Renne (195) won his first round match with a fall over the section 6A champion. Isaiah won his quarterfinal match with 5-4 decision over the Section 7A champion and the no. 2 seed 5-4. He was defeated in the semifinals by the section 2A champion. Isaiah was defeated in his consolation semifinal match by the section 4A champion. Isaiah won on a medical default over the section 3A champion to earn his fifth place medal. Isaiah compiled a good 32-17 overall season record. Brady Holien (145) won his first tournament match 7-2 over the section 7A runner up. Brady was defeated in the quarter finals by the eventual state champion 7-1, by the section 8A champion. Brady won his first round wrestle back over the section 2A runner up 4-2. Brady was defeated byTucker Ginther the section 1A champion 6-4. Brady compiled a very good 47-5 season record. Jake Mortensen (170) was defeated in his first round state match 9-6 by the section 1A champion 9-6 and eliminated from the tournament. Jake compiled a good 34-10 overall season record. Terrell Renne (285) won his first round state match by a fall of 5:52 over the section 8A champion. He was defeated by the section 4A champion 4-3 in the quarterfinals. Terrell lost his first round wrestle back match to the section 7A runner up 3-2. Terrell compiled a season record of 33-10.

LONG PRAIRIE-GREY EAGLE/BROWERVILLE WOLVES

The Wolves had seven individuals qualifiers for the state tournament and they earned two medals. Landon Gode (152) earned third with a fall in the first round over the section 6A runner up and he was defeated in the quarterfinals by the section 2A runner up 10-5. Landon defeated the section 2A champion in his first wrestle back 9-2. In the consolation semifinals he defeated the section 5A champion 6-2. Landon defeated the same wrestler he lost to in the quarterfinals 6-5 to earn his third place medal. Landon compiled a very good 36-2 overall season record. Trey Lancaster (285) earned fourth place with a great tournament performance. He was defeated in his first round by the Section 4 champion 2-1. Trey came back winning three matches in the wrestle backs; he defeated the Section 5A runner up 3-2 in OT. Trey defeated the section 5A champion 4-1 OT and in his third place match he lost once again to the section 4A champion 1-0. Trey compiled a good 38-11 overall season record. Gavin Albers (120) won his first tournament match 10-1 over the section 1A runner up. In the quarterfinals he was defeated by the Section 7A champion 5-1. Gavin won his first round wrestle back 5-0 over the section 2A runner up. Gavin was defeated by the section 1A champion 5-3 and the eventual third place medal winner. Gavin compiled a very good season record of 43-4. Mason Bruder (126) won his first round state tourney match 14-12 over the section 4A champion. He was defeated by the section 6A champion in the quarterfinals 6-4. He defeated the section 3A runner up 13-1 in his first wrestle back. He was defeated 11-9 OT by the section 4A runner up and eliminated from the tourney. Mason posted a very good 40-8 overall season record. Braden Thom (132) was defeated in his first tourney match and eliminated from the tournament. Braden posted a very good 38-6 season record. Tucker Zigan (160) was defeated in his first match by the no. 1 seed section 3A champion. Tucker was beaten in his first round of the wrestle backs by the section 5A runner up. Tucker compiled a 23-23 season record. Tate Twardowski (182) won his first round match 8-7 over the section 2A runner up 8-7. Tate won his first round wrestle back 3-2 over the section 6A runnerup. Tate was defeated by the section 4A runner up 7-6, he compiled a season record of 35-12.

HOLDINGFORD HUSKERS

The Huskers earned a pair of state tournament medals; by Wyatt Novitzki (106), he earned third place. He opened the tournament with a major decision and he advanced by injury default in his quarter final match. He was defeated by the Section 4A champion in the semifinals. He did come back to win on pair of matches by decision to earn his third place medal. He had an overall very impressive record of 37-4. Masyn Patrick (120), he earned fourth place, with a with pair of decisions to advance to the semifinal, where he was defeated by the Section 3A champion. Masyn defeated the section 8A runner up by decision and he was was defeated by the Section 1A champion 7-5 in his third place match. Masyn Paratrick had an impressive 35-9 overall season record. Sam Harren (195) was defeated by the Section 5A champion and eventual state champion in his first round. He defeat the Section 1A champion 10-2 in his first wrestle back match and he was defeated by the Section 4A champion in OT. Sam had a very good 39-8 overall season record. Drew Lange (138) was defeated by the Section 3A runner up and thus eliminated from the tournament. Drew did have a very impressive 43-8 overall season record.

MINNEWASKA AREA LAKERS

The Lakers had two individuals qualify for the state individual tournament; Jacob Blair (152) won his first round match over the section 6A champion 8-7. Jacob was defeated in the quarterfinals 10-5 by the section 1A runner up 10-5. He was defeated in his first wrestle back match by the section 4A runner up 2-1. Jacob compiled a very good 31-8 overall season record. Chase Smith (113) won his first round match 16-7 over the Section 4A champion. He was defeated by the section 7A runner up 6-3 in the quarterfinals. Chase won his first wrestle back with a fall of :45 over the section 6A runner up. Chase was defeated by the No. 2 seeded section 7A champion in the consolation semifinals. Chase complied a very good 32-6 overall season record.

HOWARD LAKE-WAVERLY-WINSTED LAKERS

The Lakers had six individuals qualify for the state Individual tourney and four of them earned state tournament medals. Raydon Graham (106) was his match with a 3:36 fall over the section 3A champion. Raydon Graham on his quarterfinal 4-3 over the No. 3 seeded section 1A champion 4-3. In the semifinals he defeated the section 7A champion and no. 2 seed 5-0. In the championship he was defeated by the section 5A champion. Raydon had a good overall season record of 31-15. Isaac Busse (160) won his first round match 12-2 over the section 8A runner up. In the quarterfinals he defeated the section 6A champion 8-2. In the semifinals he was defeated by the No. 1 seed and section 3A champion and the eventual state champion. Isaac was defeated in the consolation semifinals by the section 8A champion 5-1. Isaac was defeated by the section 5A runner up, in the fifth place match. Isaac compiled 22-17 season record. Collin Boese (170) won his first round match for the section 5A champion and no. 2 seed 5-3. In the quarterfinals he was defeated by the section 8A champion 10-8 OT. Collin defeated the section 1A runner up in the consolation semifinals 6-1. Collin advanced to the third place match by way of a medical forfeit over the section 4A champion. Collin defaulted in his third place match. Collin compiled a very good season record of 41-2. Colton Long (220) won his first match 5-1 over the second 7A runner up. He was defeated by the no. 1 seeded and section 6A champion 9-3 in the quarterfinals. Colton in his first wrestle back won by a 2:02 fall over the section 2A runner up. Colton defeated the section 6A runner up 3-2. Colton was defeated by the section 5A champion in the consolation semifinals. Colton was defeated by the section 5A runner up in his fifth place match. Colton compiled 30-18 season record. Mitchell Mallak (138) was defeated in his first match by the section 7A champion. Mitch won his first wrestle back match 6-2 over the section 1A runner up. Mitchell was defeated by the section 4A champion 10-2 and eliminated from the tournament. Mitchell compiled a 36-13 season record. Tyler Graczyk (195) was defeated in his first match 7-2 by the section 1A champion and eliminated from the tournament. Tyler compiled a 19-19 season record.

BERHTA-HEWITT/VERNDALE/PARKERS PRAIRIE RAIDERS

The Raiders had five individuals qualify for the state individual tournament. Gideon Ervasti (220) earned a second place medal, he won his first match 15-7 over the section 2A runner up. Gideon in the quarterfinals he defeated the section 4A champion 9-3. In the semifinals Gideon defeated the section 5A runner up 9-2. In the championship Gideon was defeated by the section 8A champion 9-5. Gideon compiled a 21-2 season record, as he was on the injured list most of the season. David Revering (126) won his first match 2-0 over the section 8A runner up. In the quarterfinals he was defeated by the section 1A champion and No. 1 seeded 5-0. David won his first wrestle back match 4-0 over the section 3A runner up 4-0. David was defeated by the section 2A champion and eliminated from the tournament. David compiled a very good 36-13 season record. Deagen Captain (132) was defeated in his first match of the tournament by the section 3A champion and No. 2 seed. Deagen was defeated by the Section 2A champion 4-3 and thus eliminated from the tournament. Deagen did compile a 34-16 season record. Bennet Arceneau (120) was defeated in his first match by the section 4A champion. Bennet was defeated 4-2 in OT by the Seton 5A champion and thus eliminated from the tournament. Bennett did compile a 25-15 season record. Justin Olson (106) was defeated in his first tournament match by the section 1A champion and No. 3 seeded 6-3 and eliminated from the tournament. Justin complied a 30-21 season record.

KERKHOVEN-MURDOCK-SUNBURG FIGHT SAINTS

The Fighting Saints had two state qualifiers and they both earned medals with some very good performances. Trey Gunderson (106) earned the state championship with a fall in his first match over the section 2A runner up. Trey had a major decision 8-0 over the section 7A runner up in the quarterfinals. Trey defeated the section 8A champion 8-1 in the semifinals. Trey won by a :59 fall in the championship. Trey compiled an outstanding season record of 48-1. Coy Gunderson (160) won his first tourney match by a fall of 3:22 over the section 7A runner up. Coy won in the quarterfinals with a 13-3 major decision over the section 1A champion 13-3. Coy was defeated in the semifinals by the Section 2A champion 5-1. Coy defeated the section 5A runner up 3-1 in the consolation semifinals. Coy defeated the section 8A champion 7-1 to earn his third place medal. Coy compiled a very good 47-4 overall season record.

CLASS 2AA

BECKER BULLDOGS

The Bulldogs earned third place in the state dual tournament, they were defeated in the quarterfinals. The Bulldogs defeated Section 8AA champions Thief River Falls 42-24 (8-6). In the semifinals they were defeated by the No. 2 seeded Section 2AA champions Kassen-Mantorville 31-24 (6-8). The Bulldogs defeated their rivals the Section 2AA champions Watertown-Mayer 29-8 (7-7) on criteria. Kaden Nicolas (113) and Landon Kujawa (120) both went 3-0, Drew May (126/132) and Dylan Kolby (220) both went 2-1 and Ethan Duncombe (138), Owen Angell (145) and Bryce Kuschel (285) all went 2-0. The Bulldogs compiled an very good 21-1 dual meet record for the 2021-2022 season.

The Bulldogs had three that earned state tournament medals. Mason Doucette (152) earned the state championship medal with a decision in the first round over section 8AA runner up and a fall over Section 5AA runner up in the quarter finals. In the semifinals he defeated the Section 8AA champion 3-2 to earn his way in the championship. He had a fall over the Section 1AA champion to earn the championship. He had an overall very good 44-9 season record. Kaden Nicolas (113) earned a second place medal with a fall and a pair of decisions, in the semifinals he defeated by the Section 7AA champion 7-3. In the championship he was defeated by the No. 1 seeded and Section 4AA champion 4-0. Kaden had an impressive 40-6 overall season record. Landen Kujawa (120) earned fourth place with a pair of wins in his first two matches, a fall over Section 3AA champion and a big decision over the number 3 seeded Section 3AA champion 3-2. In the semifinals he was defeated by the Section 2AA champion 4-1. He came back and defeated the Section 7AA runner up his first wrestler back. Landen was defeated 5-3 by the same wrestler he defeated in the quarterfinals. He ended his season with a very good 41-6 record. Bryce Kuschel (285) was defeated in his first match by the number two seeded Section 2AA champion. Bryce won his first wrestle back match with a fall over the Section 5AA champion, he was defeated 2-0 by the Section 3AA runner. Bryce had an overall good 33-10 season record.

WATERTOWN-MAYER ROYALS

The Royals had a very good tournament performance; they defeated the Section 3AA champions Fairmont-Martin County 31-30 (7-7). In the semifinals they were defeated by the Section 4AA Champion and nationally ranked Simley 51-10. The Royals battled a familiar rival in the third place dual, they were defeated on criteria by the Section 6AA champions Becker 29-28 (7-7. Bryce Burkett (160) went 3-0, Jonah Hamberger (126) and Ashton Congdon (220) both went 2-1 and Titan Friederichs (106), Jonah Blakstud (182) and Jackson Drahos (195) all went 2-0 to earn fourth place. They had a very good 23-5 dual meet record for the season.

The Royals had six state individual state qualifiers and they earned two state tournament medals. Bryce Burkett (160) won his first match 2-1 over the section 7AA runner up. Bryce won his quarterfinal match in OT 5-3 over the section 6AA runner up. In the semifinals he was defeated by the section 6AA champion and no. 1 seed 3-2. Bryce defeated the section 2A runner up in the consolation semifinals. Bryce defeated the section 4AA champion 3-2 to earn his third place medal. Bryce compiled a very good 46-4 overall season record. Jackson Drahos (195) lost his first match to the section 1AA champion and no. 1 seed. Jackson won his first wrestle back 10-7 over the Section 6AA runner up. Jackson earned a 2-1 win in his second wrestle back match over the section 8AA champion 2-1. Jackson was defeated in the consolation semifinals by the section 7AA champion. Jackson loss his fifth place match to the section 1A champion. Jackson compiled a 37-11 season record. Ashton Congdon (220) won his first match by a 4:28 fall over the section 1AA champion. Ashton was defeated in the quarterfinals by the section 6AA runner up 1-0. Ashton won his first wrestle back match by a fall over the the Section 5AA runner up in 2:48. Ashton was defeated by the section 4AA runner up 3-1, thus eliminated from the tourney. Ashton compiled a good season record of 38-11. Titan Friederichs (106) was defeated in his first round match and thus eliminated from the tournament. Titan completed a impressive record of 40-3. Jonah Hamberger (132) won his first round match by a 6-4 decision over the second 1AA champion. Jonah was defeated in his quarter final match by the section 4AA champion. Jonah was his first wrestle back match 8-3 over the section 6AA runner up. Jonah was defeated by the section 7AA champion in the consolation semifinals, thus eliminated. Jonah compiled a 27-11 overall season record. Hunter Stein (285) was defeated in his first match and eliminated from the tourney. Hunter did compile a 25-14 season record.

MORA MUSTANGS

The Section 7AA champions the Mustangs was defeated in the quarterfinals by the section 1AA and No. 2 seeded Kasson-Manterville 49-13. In the consolation semifinals they were defeated by the section 8AA champions Thief River Falls 44-26 (6-8). Mason Nelson (120) and Avery Nelson (145) both went 2-0.

The Mustangs had six state qualifiers; they earned one state medal by Nathan Nelson (132). Nathan won his first match by a 4:40 fall over the section 1AA runner up. In the quarterfinals he was defeated by the section 3AA runner up and no. 3 seeded 10-5. Nathan defeated the section 5AA runner up by a fall of 2:39. In the next match Nathan earned another fall over the section 2AA champion in 3:55. Nathan was defeated by the section 3AA champion 8-3. Nathan was defeated in his fifth place match by the section 6AA champion 13-9. Nathan compiled a very good 44-5 season record. Mason Nelson (120) won his first match over the section 1AA runner up 7-6. In the quarterfinals he was defeated by the section 2AA champion. Carter compiled a 30-18 season record. Anthony Nelson (113) was defeated in his first match by the section 3AA champion. Anthony lost his first wrestle back match the section 1AA runner up and thus eliminated from the tournament. Anthony did compile a season record of 29-10.

PEQUOT LAKES/PINE RIVER/BACKUS ROAD CREW

The Road Crew qualified seven to the individual state tournament. Connor Tulenchik (170) won his match with a fall of 2:40 over the section 4AA runner up. In the quarterfinals he had a Tech. Fall over the section 3AA champion. Connor defeated the section 2AA champion 3-2 in the semifinals. In the championship Connor defeated the section 1AA champion 4-2 in OT. Connor compiled a very impressive season record of 48-2. Parker Sutter (106) was defeated in his first round match by the section 2AA runner up. Parker did come back two matches in the wrestle backs with wins over the section 4AA champion 5-4 and a tech fall over the section 1AA runner up. Parker was defeated by the section 5AA champion 12-6. He defeated the section 3AA runner up 10-6 to earn his fifth place medal. Parker did compile a very good 47-4 season record. Corbin Knapp (195) won his first round match over the section 7AA runner up 3-0. He was defeated by the section 6AA champion and the no. 3 seed 7-4 in the quarterfinals. Corbin defeated the section 5AA runner up in his first wrestle back. Corbin was defeated by the section 2AA runner up 2-1 and thus eliminated. Corbin did compile a very good 42-6 season record. Austin Staricha (220) won his first match with a 5:27 fall over the section 6AA runner up. He was defeated by the section 3AA champion. The Hornets qualified five to the state Individual and all five earned medals. Leading the way was Christian Noble (126), he won the state championship. In the semifinals Christian defeated the section 3AA champion 10-0. Cristian defeated his Section 6AA rival 6-2 to earn the championship. Cristian compiled a very impressive 49-1 season record. Cash Sixberry (113) won his first match with a 5:32 fall over the section 5AA runner up. In the quarterfinals he was defeated by the section 7AA champion 6-4. Noah was defeated by the section 7AA runner up 9-7 OT. Noah compiled a good 38-6 record for the season. Zach won his first match 5-4 over the section 1AA runner up. Zach was defeated in the quarterfinals by the section 4AA champion and the no. 2 seed. Zach won his first wrestle back match 7-4 over the Section 3AA runner up. AITKIN GOBBLERS

The Gobblers had five state qualifiers for the state individual tournament. Marshall Larson (138) earned a sixth place medal. Hayden Hoernemann (195) won his first round match with a 3:17 fall over the section 5AA runner up. In the quarterfinals he defeated the section 8AA champion 7-4. The Pioneers had three individuals qualify for the state individual tournament. Trevor Radunz (145) won his first match with a :40 fall over the section 5AA runner up. In the quarterfinals Trevor defeated the section 3AA champion 10-1. In the semifinals he was defeated by the section 1AA champion and the No. 1 seed. In the consolation semifinals Trevor defeated the section 6AA champion by a 4:02 fall. He defeated the section 1AA champion for the second time 10-0 to earn his third place medal. Trevor compiled a very good 44-1 season record.
Carter Young (106) won his first match 6-2 over the section 6AA runner up. He was defeated in the quarterfinals by the Section 5AA champion. Carter was defeated by the section 3AA runner up and was eliminated from the tourney. Carter did complete a very good 33-6 season record. Chase Becker (132) lost his first match and he was eliminated from the tournament. Chase did compile a 26-11 season record.

ROCORI SPARTANS

The Spartans had two state qualifiers, Austin Moscho (152) went 2-2 with a major decision in his first match of the Second 5AA runner up. He was defeated by the No. 1 seeded wrestler, the Section 1AA champion 7-1. Austin won his first wrestle back match 6-4 over the Section 2AA runner up. He was defeated by the Section 3AA champion 5-3 and he went on to earn third place. Austin had an overall good 43-7 record for the season. Grady Minnerath (220) won his first two matches, he had a fall over Section 5AA runner up and a 11-0 win over the Section 2AA champion. Grady was defeated by the number one seed the Section 4AA champion in the semifinals who went on to win the state championship. Grady was defeated in his first wrestle back match by the Section 2AA champion 5-4. Grady was defeated in his fifth place match by the Section 3AA champion. Grady did compile a very good 35-13 season record.

PRINCETON TIGERS

The Tigers had three qualify for the individual state tournament. Tyler Wells (132) won his first match with a Tech. Fall over the section 4AA runner up. In the quarterfinals he got another Tech. Fall over the section 2AA runner up. In the semifinals Tyler defeated the section 3AA runner up 12-4. In the championship Tyler defeated the No. 2 seed the section 4AA champion 6-4. Tyler compiled an outstanding record of 47-0. Ethan Ballweber (138) won his first match with a 3:19 fall over section 5AA runner up. In the quarterfinals he was defeated by the section 7AA champion 6-5. In his first wrestle back he defeated the section 8AA runner up with a 2:30 fall. Ethan defeated the section 8AA champion 5-2 to advance to the consolation semifinals. He was defeated by the section 4AA champion. Ethan defeated the section 7AA champion 6-4 to earn his fifth place medal. Ethan compiled a good 40-6 season record. Kaden Olson (195) won his first match with a 15-3 major decision over the section 3AA runner up. Kaden was defeated in the quarterfinals by the No. 4 seed and section 6AA champion 7-4. Kaden was defeated in his first wrestle back match by the section 2AA runner up 10-7. Kaden posted an overall 28-10 season record.

MILACA-FAITH CRISTIAN WOLVES

The Wolves had two individuals qualify for the state individual tournament
Logan Ash (285) lost his first match to the section 6AA runner up and was eliminated from the tournament. Logan complied a 24-10 overall season record.
Colbee Zens (195) was defeated by the section 8AA champion 3-0 and thus eliminated from the tournament. Colbee did compile a 21-13 season record.

CLASS AAA

SAINT MICHAEL-ALBERTVILLE KNIGHTS

The Knights had a very good state dual meet tournament with three huge wins to earn the Class AAA State Dual Championship. The Knights defeated the section 5AAA champions Apple Valley in the quarterfinal dual 45-19, 10-4 match splits. The Knights defeated the section 7AAA champions Anoka 43-23, 8-6 match splits. The Knights defeated the section 6AAA champions Stillwater 39-27, 9-5 match splits. The Knights compiled an impressive 24-0 dual meet record. Mason Mills (113), Ian Schultz (120), Landon Robideau (126), Caleb Thoennes (132) and Jed Wester (160) all were 3-0. Cole Becker (145), Jimmy Heil (152) and Owen Barthel (285) went 2-1 and Chase Mills (106) and Eli Davis (138) both went 2-0.

The Knights had eleven state qualifiers and they brought home five individual state tournament medals, including a pair of state championships. Mason Mills (113) won his first match 6-0 over the section 3AAA runner up and in the quarterfinals Mason defeated the section 8AAA champion 9-2. In the semifinals Mason defeated the section 4AAA champion 9-5. In the championship he defeated the section 6AA runner up 4-0. Mason compiled a very good 42-3 overall record. Landon Robideau (126) defeated the section 2AAA runner up with a :54 fall. Landon defeated the section 3AAA runner up in the quarterfinals with a 1:41 fall. In the semifinals he defeated the section 3AAA champion by a tech fall.

The Cardinals were defeated in the quarterfinals by the section 4AA champion and the no. 2 seeded Stillwater Area 43-26 (6-8). In the consolation semifinals the Cardinals were defeated by Northfield the section 1AAA champion 35-34 (7-7). Cavin Carlson (106), Sully Anez (120/126), Conlan Carlson (126/132), Braeden Erickson (152), Jonas Anez (160) and Mason Swanson (220/285) all went 2-0. The Cardinals had a good overall season dual record of 26-7.

The Cardinals did have six individual state qualifiers and they brought home four individual state tournament medals. Conlan Carlson (126) won his first match with a tech. Fall over the section 1AAA runner up. In the quarterfinal he defeated the section 8AAA runner up by a tech. Fall. Conlan defeated the section 3AAA champion and the no. 2 seed 6-1. Conlan was defeated by the section 5AAA champion and the no. 1 seed 7-0 in the state finals. Conlan complied a very impressive 53-2 overall season record. Jonas Anez (160) advanced on a medical forfeit the first round and in the quarterfinals he defeated the section 6AAA champion with a 5:41 fall. Jonas was defeated in the semifinal by the no. 1 seed, the section 1AAA champion 5-0. Jonas was defeated by the section 2AAA champion in the consolations semifinals 4-2 OT. Jonas won his fifth place with a medical forfeit over the section 8AAA champion. Jonas did compile a good 43-9 overall season record. Mason Swanson (220) won his first match with a :24 fall over the Section 1AAA runner up. He was defeated in the quarterfinals by the section 5AAA champion and no. 1 seed. The Lumberjacks had five individual state qualifiers and brought home two state medals. Dane Jorgensen (145) won his first match with a Maj. Dec. 9-0 over the section 2AAA runner up. In the quarter finals he won 4-0 over the section 1AAA runner up. He was defeated by the section 5AAA champion and the no. 2 seed 5-2. In the consolation semifinals he was defeated by the section 6AAA champion 3-2. Dane defeated the section 7AAA runner up 5-2 in his fifth place match. Dane compiled a very good 34-7 overall season record. Seth Newby (170) won his first round match with a 2:58 fall over the section 5AAA runner up. He was defeated in the quarter finals by the section 6AAA champion 9-7. Seth won his first wrestle back by a fall of 4:51 over the section 4AAA runner up. He defeated the section 2AAA runner up 5-1. The Crush had four state qualifiers; Tucker Hugg (285) was their lone wrestler to earn a state tournament medal. Tucker lost his first match to the number one seeded Section 6AAA champion 5-4. Tucker won two wrestle back matches, he defeated the Section 4AAA champion 6-1 and the Section 5AAA champion 3-0. He was defeated in the consolation semifinals by the number two seeded wrestler the Section 3AAA champion 9-7 in OT. Tucker won by default in his fifth place match. Tucker compiled a good 38-9 season record. Sutton Kenning (195) just an eighth grader went 2-0 in the tournament. Sutton compiled a very good 33-11 record overall for the season. Cody Brott (182) lost his first match and was eliminated from the tournament. Cody compiled a good 32-9 overall season record. Jaxon Kenning (138) was defeated in his tournament match and he was eliminated from the tournament. Jaxon compiled a very good 41-3 overall season record.

BRAINERD WARRIORS

The Warriors had four state qualifiers for the state tournament; Gabe Wagner (152) won his first match 7-3 over the section 2AAA runner up. In the quarterfinals Gabe defeated the section 6AAA champion 7-2. In the semifinals Gabe was defeated 4-3 by the section 7AAA runner up 4-3. Gabe defeated the section 5 AAA runner up with a fall of 3:18. Gabe defeated the section 3AAA runnerup 10-8 OT to earn his third place medal. Gabe did compile a very good 46-5 overall season record. Easton Dircks (113) won his first match 12-3 over the section 3AAA runner up. He was defeated in the quarterfinals by the section 5AAA champion by the eventual state champion. Easton in the consolations semifinals defeated the section 7AAA runner up 2-1. He was defeated by the section 7AAA champion and the no. 2 seed 3-2 in his third place match. Easton compiled a very good 48-3 overall season record. Dalton Barrett (285) won his match 7-4 over the section 2AAA runner up by fall of 5:12. In the quarterfinals he defeated the section 5AAA runner up 7-4. Dalton was defeated in the semifinals by the section 6AAA champion and no. 1 seed 7-3. Dalton was defeated by the section 2AAA champion in the consolation semifinals 5-2. He was forced to medically forfeit his fifth place match. Dalton did compiled a very good 42-5 overall season record. Damien Bentho (170) was defeated in his first match by the section 1AAA champion 7-3 and thus eliminated from the tourney. Damien compiled a 24-15 season record.

LITTLE FALLS FLYERS

The Flyers had one state qualifier Austin Litke (132) won his first match with a :29 fall over the section 6AAA runner up. In the quarterfinals he was defeated by the section 2AAA champion and the no. 2 seed. Austin won his first wrestle back match with a fall of 2:30 over the section 5AAA runner up. Austin was defeated by the section 1AAA champion 5-0. Austin compiled a 33-8 overall season record.

SARTELL-ST. STEPHEN SABRES

The Sabres earned one state tournament medal by Dylan Enriquez (138). He earned fourth place with a very good tournament performance. He defeated the Section 2AAA champion 11-5 in his first match and he lost to the number two seed the Section 1AAA champion and eventual runner up. He defeated the Section 6AAA runner up 3-2 in his first wrestle back match, He defeated the Section 1AAA runner up 3-0 in his second wrestle back and in the consolation semifinal he defeated the Section 7AAA champion 7-6. Dylan was defeated by the Section 5AAA champion 1-0 for the third place medal. Dylan compiled an overall a very good 35-10 overall record. Spencer Johnson (126) won his first state tournament match 6-2 over the Section 5AAA runner up. He was defeated by the eventual state runner up by the Section 8AAA rival in his quarterfinal. Spencer won his first wrestle back match 5-2 over the Section 1AAA runner up. He was defeated by the Section 7AAA champion to end his state tournament. Spencer compiled a good overall season record of 40-8. Ashton Lipinski (152)was defeated 3-1 in his first round state tournament match by the Section 3AAA champion and then eliminated from the tournament. Ashton compiled a 26-7 overall season record. As he spent a lot of time on the injured list.

CAMBRIDGE-ISANTI BLUE JACKETS

The Blue Jackets had three qualifiers for the individual state tourney; Scott Simpson (285) lost his first round match 6-0 to the section 2AAA champion, thus he was eliminated from the tournament. Scott did compile a 37-14 overall all season record. Leo Edblad (106) won his first match with a tech. Fall over the section 6AAA runner up. In the quarterfinals he was defeated by the section 7AAA champion 2-1 OT. Leo won his first wrestle back with a 2:07 fall over the section 5AAA runner up. Leo defeated the section 8AAA runner up 11-2 and in the consolation semifinals Leo defeated the section 4AAA champion 7-1. Leo defeated the section 8AAA champion 3-2 to earn his third place medal. Leo compiled a very good 43-4 overall season record. Treytin Byers (170) was defeated in his first match 5-0 by the section 5AAA champion. In his first wrestle back match he was defeated 3-1 OT by the section 1AAA runner up. Treytin did compile a good 35-12 overall season record.

ROGER ROYALS

The Royals had one state qualifier Isaiah Brown (195) was defeated in his first match by the section 4AAA runner up 6-4 and thus eliminated from the tournament. Isaiah did compile a 35-9 overall season record.
